London, it’s time to Wrap Up again

It’s that time of the year again when we dig out our winter coats and turn up the heating in our homes; but what about those who struggle, particularly during the colder months? If you have passed our branch in Highbury recently you may have noticed that we are supporting Wrap Up London again by collecting your old coats. Last year we joined over 850 people who also gave up their time to collect nearly 23,000 coats and distribute them to over 100 worthy charities. It really was a no-brainer to support the charity again this winter.

Now in its seventh year, the annual campaign is the largest winter volunteering event in the city and, once again, Sales Manager Tim Gray is leading the Anthony Pepe team of volunteers. He had this to say about his chosen charity: “We wanted to support Wrap Up London again as they are a London charity and they support a number of vulnerable people throughout winter; these include homeless, the elderly and women’s shelters. It is a wonderful feeling knowing that an unused coat would not be sitting in a wardrobe but instead would be worn and appreciated by somebody in need. Being an active member of the Highbury community, I wanted to assist local residents who needed help, and also assist local residents who wanted to help others in their area. By spreading the word at Highbury and Islington Station, and by offering a convenient drop-off point for donations I get the chance to speak to many Highbury residents, and am always overwhelmed by their kindness and generosity with the amount of donations we receive!”

Our passion is property and people. Finding homes to buy or rent is what we do day in day out, but we would be foolish to ignore the increasing amount of people living in crisis in our home city. You may already know that we regularly take part in charity events throughout the year, from abseiling challenges to school fairs, but Wrap Up London is a special campaign, and one which you can help us with. Last November we collected over 50 coats, which were taken to the Wrap Up warehouse and donated to the homeless, elderly, refugees, women who have fled domestic violence, and children in poverty.

How can you help? You can donate all old or unwanted coats by dropping them into our branch in Highbury until Friday 24th November. Alternatively, Tim, and other members of the Anthony Pepe team, will be collecting coats from Highbury and Islington Station between 13th to 15th November.

Join us as we highlight the power of Londoners, especially when they work together, to help their local community. Please spread the Wrap Up London message to your friends and family; your spare or old coat will keep a person in need warm, and could even save their life. Collections will be held at stations across London on Monday 13th to Wednesday 15th November; you can find your nearest collection point online at www.wrapuplondon.org.uk.

Are you looking for an estate agent in North London? We are heavily involved in our local community, charities and schools, but we’re also experts in property. Contact your local branch if you have a property to sell or let, or get in touch if you are a local charity and would like to work with us.
