Bring your Garden to Life

Last week we inspired you to reach your garden goals with examples of our own properties for sale throughout north London and now, as summer fast approaches, you’ll need the right furniture and accessories to complete the look. But with so much choice and so many options to pick from, it can be as difficult as deciding on décor for the interior of your home. So to help you out, here are our favourite ideas for outdoor accessories to bring your garden to life.

Furniture – Whether you’ve got a private balcony, rooftop terrace or luscious lawns, your choice of garden furniture is endless, from a pretty iron bistro table and chairs to modern rattan modular sets. Bringing comfort and function to your outdoor space will make it more usable throughout the summer months, but before you buy, you’ll want to make sure your new furniture not only complements your space but your lifestyle too. If you plan to entertain or simply want to relax, there are several factors you’ll need to consider, not forgetting storage, as we know that unfortunately, the sun won’t be around forever.

Barbeque – Have you enjoyed your first barbeque of the year yet? Al fresco dining can only be made better by al fresco cooking too. Nothing signifies summer better than the aroma of a barbeque banquet, with fresh ingredients and smoked flavours. You could opt for a traditional barbeque grill, or really impress your guests with something a little different, like rustic wood, fired ovens for serving up your very own Italian pizzas or modern fire baskets which are perfect for roasting marshmallows late on a summer night. There are also some very cool must-have backyard barbeque gadgets that any summertime chef needs to own, such as meat pulling bear paws and bamboo tools.

Lighting – Lighting is essential throughout your home and even into the garden too. Although the evenings are lighter for longer, you still need a form of outdoor lighting to really make the most of your space on a summer evening. Your lights should be functional whilst providing style and a relaxing atmosphere. As there are so many lighting ideas around, all you need is to get the right one to suit your exterior and the look you’re trying to achieve. Well-placed lighting can transform the outside of your property from dull to dazzling, whether you opt for string lighting, solar-powered ground lights or something more exciting. Enjoy choosing between traditional and contemporary or why not even mix the two!

Heaters – Although we have already been blessed with some sunshine this year, we can’t always guarantee the good weather. So, as the sun goes down and you wrap a blanket around your shoulders, you can turn on your garden heater. Coming in all shapes and sizes, Chimineas are very popular, keeping you warm whilst adding a touch of Spanish charm to your outdoor space. Choose from traditional clay or terracotta, or make a statement with copper or cast iron, whatever you decide you’ll soon be relaxing late into the evening with family and friends.

Enjoy every drop of sunshine this summer by making your outdoor space an extended living area for you and your family. If you’re looking for a new home to buy or rent and have specific requirements, contact your local branch and our team of local experts will find you your perfect property.
