Why your April could be filled with chills, frights, tears, and romance

At Anthony Pepe, we are about more than just property, we enjoy a variety of team outings to our favourite restaurants, local karaoke clubs and other events that pop up in Haringey. Throughout April, our neighbours at Alexandra Palace are hosting a drive-in theatre, a fun film experience that our teams look forward to. Film lovers are treated to cult classics and new releases and let’s not forget that each film is enjoyed underneath the stars that shine over north London. The only problem is that we can never agree on a film and we’re sure that you and your family and friends are the same. Luckily the creators of the number one outdoor screening club have something for everyone from classics to comedies this spring is going to be a film-filled season! Some of our team have swapped their passion for property to a fondness for films as they share their choice of movies that will be shown on the big screen this April.

James Haines, Sales Manager – Mad Max

“I watched Mad Max in the cinema last year and I am looking forward to seeing this action adventure come alive at Alexandra Palace. There have been a mixture of reviews but if you love action then this film will blow you away! The apocalyptic story is set in a desert landscape where almost everyone is fighting to stay alive. Tom Hardy plays Max, a man of few words who seeks peace in a broken world. The perfect film for a night with my friends and a few beers, the location will certainly add to the atmosphere and excitement of the evening.”
Gemma Foster, Senior Sales Negotiator – The Notebook

“I am definitely not alone when I say that this is the best romantic film ever! OK, maybe ever is an exaggeration but as a love story it’s up there with the best, undeniably memorable and heart-warming. I once convinced my boyfriend to watch it by telling him it was a gangster film with Robert De Niro, it wasn’t until about an hour in until he said, “this isn’t like the Godfather at all!” I know I shouldn’t have but it’s such an iconic love story that everyone should watch. Ryan Goslings stars as a poor but passionate man who falls in love with Rachel McAdams, a young rich woman, the two lovers are torn apart by their social differences. Just talking about it gives me goosebumps, hopefully, they will giving out tissues as we drive into the Pavilion car park as it’s a tear jerker!”
Charlie Perdios, Managing Director – Pulp Fiction

“Quentin Tarantino at his best, Pulp Fiction has to be one of my favourite films. The writing, the acting, the music, all fit together perfectly making an epic tale of violence and redemption. The cast is filled with A-list actors, my favourite being Samuel L Jackson, cool as a cucumber with some of the best lines in the movie. I am intrigued to see how this masterpiece translates to the big screen but I am sure that it will be a sell-out if you haven’t seen this film you haven’t lived!”
Kris White, Head of Operations – The Goonies

“The Goonies was released in 1985 making it older than some of my team yet it is an absolute classic and one that almost everyone has seen. The film sees a group of misfit kids set out to find a pirate’s ancient treasure, it’s an adventure, comedy for the whole family and will be great to see at Alexandra Palace’s drive in film club later this month. Sloth is my favourite character, when talking about this film it’s hard to not do your best Sloth impression of, “hey you guys”. At 30 years old this film just gets better and better and I’m sure that it will be very popular amongst a range of ages.”
