Last Friday our team travelled the 6 miles down the road to the Lancaster London Hotel, which played host to the EA LIVE Event and The Sunday Times and The Times Estate Agency of the Year Awards 2015. Before the awards kicked off we were treated to a morning of inspiring seminars brought to us by The Property Academy. Over 650 property professionals attended the event where world-class speakers came together to deliver informative and insightful presentations to a room packed full of competitive and enthusiastic Estate Agents from across the UK.
A theme that echoed throughout each presentation was hiring the right people for your business, at this point a smile came across our faces, at Anthony Pepe our team and our community are the heart of our business which was proved a little later on in the day but we’ll come back to that later. The morning concluded with a funny and entertaining keynote speech from the celebrity speaker, international rugby player and MBE Matt Dawson. Still laughing from some of Matt’s more risqué jokes we joined the rest of our peers for lunch as we began to anticipate the winners that were to be announced that afternoon.
After a spot of lunch we were led in to the Nine Kings Suite where the Estate Agency of the Year Awards were taking place, it’s here where the very best agents from throughout the UK find out who has been judged to be the best of the best. The glittering ceremony that has been running for 13 years was about to reveal the winners of the most highly regarded awards in any Estate Agent’s calendar. As a company and as a team we find that entering these awards allows us to look at our business from a different perspective, ensuring that we stand out from our competitors. Over the years it has increased our team’s motivation as our hard work and achievements have been regularly recognised. We hope that our clients also enjoy working with an award winning business and see how much days like this mean to us.
“And the winner is, Anthony Pepe!” We had won Gold, our ethos of, “passionate team members will produce passionate customers” had paid off. We had been recognised for offering our community and our customers the best small estate agency in London. Our smiles turned to pride as the news started to filter to our teams back in North London. Returning to our earlier comment, throughout the day the speakers highlighted many topics which we had now been rewarded for, the heart of our business and dedication of our whole team had won us this prestigious award for the second year in a row. It has been a great honour to be recognised in an industry that we love which we never take for granted however what truly matters to us it providing the very best service every day to our clients. What an end to a great year! We have recently opened our new branch in Highbury and now we can continue to grow, proud that our achievements and future ambitions have been recognised. As we took our seats we participated in the event’s selfie competition, snapping a quick team “selfie” which actually went on to win us a bottle of Champagne! Still with smiles on our faces we crept closer and closer to our category, “Small London Estate Agency of the Year”, this is a highly competitive category and although we won the award in 2014 we were competitive but not complacent as the winner was revealed.
Our Managing Director, Charlie Perdios has kindly shared his thoughts on what the Estate Agency Award means to him,
“We first entered the awards in 2011 when we won a silver award and have since gone on to win Gold, Best Small London Estate Agency in 2012, 2014 and 2015. The reason we decided to enter was because we truly believed we offered a higher standard of service than the other agents we were competing with in our areas. We didn’t believe we would actually win, however we weren’t scared to be judged by the industry experts and we thought if anything it could highlight any weaknesses we had within the company which we could then go on to fix. Just entering these awards has raised our own standards tremendously especially the rigorous mystery shopping which means that the staff consistently have to deliver the highest level of service at all times. We are extremely proud to have won the award on so many occasions as it’s one thing winning, but to keep improving our already high standards is even more difficult.”
