Why choosing the right estate agent has never been so important post Brexit

There has been a lot written about the EU Referendum, in fact for a week it filled the news with facts, predictions, and opinions but now the dust has settled what are we left with? The answer is quite surprising, not a lot has changed, the claims and the reality seem to differ somewhat.

It is simply business as usual here at Anthony Pepe. After holding our breath and waiting for project fear to take hold, nothing changed.  We continue to complete on sales throughout London, vendors are still listing properties and what are clients need more than anything is honest advice.  Our whole team are monitoring the situation and know, now more than ever, our clients need and deserve a professional and experienced service to work with them through this confusing time.

If our government have conflicting views where does that leave the rest of us? Each area of your life has probably been flooded with stories and speculations of what’s going to happen since Britain chose to leave the EU. What does this mean for my job? Does it affect my finances or my mortgage? And most importantly for us, and anyone looking to move home, what does this mean for the property market?

Now, we don’t have all of the answers but what we do know is two things, property and north London. Whether the market has jumped or slumped elsewhere in the UK is irrelevant, what matters is you and your home. Previously when choosing an agent you may have considered price, awards or a recommendation but since the Brexit vote you want more from your estate agent?

Your Estate Agent should at least be able to advise you based on their expert knowledge of your area and specifically the local market. Comprehension of local house prices, upcoming areas and first-time buyer advice will set apart the regular agents from the influencers who are not only market leaders but also property specialists. What can you do to ensure you make the right choice? You can start by asking the right questions. Your home has always been your biggest asset but now it somehow feels more valuable than ever so these questions are essential in choosing the right agent for you and your home.

In addition to the obvious questions of costs and contracts, add these to your list

  • What is happening in the local market?
  • Is it worth us waiting to move home?
  • Will property prices be going up or down?
  • Will my mortgage be affected?

The referendum result has encouraged the teams and Anthony Pepe to maintain their standing within your community and continue to possess an inclusive understanding of the North London property market.

With business thriving Anthony Pepe’s Director, Charlie Perdios has recently hit the news several times. You might have seen his comments on the subject in local online publications together with announcements in new business ventures. As well as being the Director of our award winning agency Charlie is also the Founder of Agency Mentors, delivering training and mentoring within the property industry across the UK. Dedicated to providing his team with the best training in the industry Charlie he is committed to providing the best service to every client.
